Blue and white is always classic and timeless, even at Christmas. It can look festive and holiday-ish, with very little effort, really. To wit:

Ellen, I've been thinking about you and popped in to catch-up with my favorite blogs. Yes, I really enjoy reading your blog. Love your tablescape. You always have the prettiest tables. Love the idea of using non-traditional colors in holiday decorating.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much!
DeleteThis blue is simple elegance at its best. I don't think anyone does blue as pretty as Spode. I'm going to pin that plate to my Spode board right now.
ReplyDeleteI love the rectangular mirror placemats, Ellen! They're the perfect size and shape for this setting!!! I used to have a set of octagonal ones, but I foolishly gave them to Goodwill when I moved. Dumb, dumb, dumb!! I think at that point I "thought" I was going to downsize! Ha! The ribbon in the centerpiece looks cool! That's a really good idea! Of course, you KNOW I'm loving the blue & white...my all-time favorite color combination!!! Very pretty!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! The blue and white color scheme looks wonderfully clean and wintry, and those fabulous cobalt blue goblets are stunning! The blue borders on your photos really make the colors pop!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I really like those little PicMonkey options to gussy up the photos!
DeleteEllen you've done it again. It's beautiful.
ReplyDeleteJust lovely!! The mirror placemats are fabulous - and something that caught my eye is the beautiful lime green buffet in the background...mmm to die for!!
ReplyDeleteThanks -- I blogged about that a while back -- it was a piece of junk from an estate sale, which I painted with a shade I mixed up.
Deleteyour blue and white turned out so pretty. The mirrored placemats are fabulous, love how you have them on the table!Your dishes paired with the gorgeous cobalt anything look fabulous. Love the centerpiece. xo marlis
ReplyDeleteOK, WOW! I mean WOW! I love blue and white together and think it's beautiful for Christmas. I love the photos with the shadows, so artistic. You need to enlighten me, What is a carpet ball? Dianne
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful blue and white table -- which as you know I adore blue and white! I have those same top plates and use them often for everyday. I saw some Spode Christmasy blue and white transferware and I was tempted, truly tempted but I DO have my Royal Doulton Christmas and do I NEED two Christmas sets? But you just proved you don't need Christmas china at all!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous table! Your Spode is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! Your center arrangement looks very pretty with the ribbon laid out so nicely! The cobalt blue stemware is very pretty and very striking! The mirrored placemats are really nice! They set up the blue and white very nicely!
ReplyDeleteHey pretty lady, your blue C'mas is gorgeous, the china placed on top of the mirror place mats is to die for!! I'm loving the pretty centerpiece and the ribbon like that..there's something about ribbons this time of year, they just make a statement. Yeah, I love the book too, it was a b'day present from my friend Stephanie from NJ, she also lives here, she's married to hubby's good friend. Have a happy holiday season.

Ellen, you have outdone yourself...this table is gorgeous! I love cobalt with white and silver. Speaking of silver, your flatware is beautiful. I always look forward to what brightness your table holds each week.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous table. The blue is so dramatic and eye catching. Totally festive and magical.

Love, love this one! Great blue and white for Christmas. Gorgeous setting!
ReplyDeleteI agree that your blue Christmas is beautiful. I especially love your Spode platea and the cobalt blue glassware that really makes a statement. I would have never thought of blue for Christmas, but it looks great. Joni
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful table setting and very relaxing looking! Lovely dishes too!
ReplyDeleteI just love blue and white! This table setting is just gorgeous. It may be effortless, but the results are stunning. Great post, we'd love to have you link it.
