PEACOCKS AND GOLD

I wanted to do something different for this Christmas table -- Peacocks and Gold!

I think I like it!

When I was thinking about this table, I decided to find a few more of the peacock plates -- eBay to the rescue!  The only thing here that you haven't seen but I have had them quite a while, are the turquoise goblets from Artland glass.  You might remember that I had some trouble with One Kings Lane a while back, and they ultimately took back that plastic crap that they advertised as glass.  They only gave me a credit on their site instead of the refund I requested -- and this is one of the things I found to spend the credit on.

I hope you like my different take on a Christmas table this week!

I am joining Cuisine Kathleen for Let's Dish and Susan for Tablescape Thursday.  For Seasonal Sunday, I am linking to The Tablescaper.

  2. So beautiful, love your peacock blue plates and the turquoise goblets. I am taking note of Artland Glass for the future, I do think I have some of their glasses but didn't know it was by Artland. I haven't tried my aqua dishes with gold so will keep that in mind too.

  6. The turquoise and gold hues are just lovely. The peacock plates are a surprise and so perfectly coordinated with the turquoise goblets. The gold sleigh and deer with the turquoise beads in the centerpiece is wonderful for a holiday tablescape and just amazing! May you have a wonderful Christmas!

  9. I don't just like it, I love, love, love it! What a beautiful color effect. It is so lush. Those glasses were worth the trouble, I am thinking. I think most of us would have paired the blue with silver, but this gold is even prettier. I love all of your baubles around the table too! Magnificent - fit for a KING!

  10. I love your Christmas table. I've been wanted to use that turquoise color for sometime now, but just don't have enough to "pull it all together". You've done a fantastic job. Love the beads, and the beautiful blue stemware. Have a very Merry Christmas! :)

  11. This is sensational!! That turquoise and gold together is so different and elegant. Love those peacock plates - I used to live in Milledgeville, Ga, the home of Flannery O'Connor, the writer. She kept peacocks on her farm and I have always been fascinated by them. They are very loud in person - yours manage to be quiet and mysterious. Beautiful job, Ellen - love it!!

  14. I don't think I like this, Ellen.....I LOVE IT!!! The peacock colors work beautifully with the gold! I'm glad you were able to spend your credit with One King's Lane, but sorry they didn't do the decent thing and give you the option to get an out-and-out refund. Those peacock plates are exquisite!!! I saw them earlier this year and just flipped!!! Since I'm on hiatus from buying, they stayed in the store. I'm glad I can visit them on your blog! REALLY pretty centerpiece action goin' on there, too!!!
